2026 Tennis World Sydney Olympic Park – Coloured Ball Series Purpose To provide supervised competitive play opportunities for our coloured ball players in a series event each term with a ladder to encourage participation and performance. The TW Colour Ball Series will be open to Orange and Green Stage Players who are deemed ‘ready to compete’ by their coach. This is open to players from across Sydney (and beyond). Format Players will be placed into groups, and a round robin will be played so all players compete against everyone in their group. Groups will have four or five players in them, meaning each round, a player is guaranteed a minimum of three singles matches but could play up to six singles matches if they reach the final. After all players have completed their group stage matches, the leader of each group will progress to the play-offs which will then become an elimination. Winners of each play-off round progress to the following round until we have one champion of the round. Points will be awarded to the competitors based on their final positions (see points table below). After the qualifying rounds are completed, the highest 8 players will be invited to participate in the Term Championships. Rules 1. Each match will be allocated a set time, with the goal to play as many games as possible in the time allocated. If the result is tied at the end of the timeslot, one additional game is played. 2. Each game will be short deuce, meaning if the score reaches 40-40, the next point wins the game. 3. Scores for the rounds are recorded by the winner at the end of the match. 4. Leader of the group stages is determined matches won in the group. If matches won is equal, the winner of the match between those that are tied will determine the positions. 5. Play-off matches will be the same rules as the group stages. 6. The winner and finalist of the final match of the day will be awarded a Medal. Parent Involvement Tennis is a sport played between the players on court. Parent involvement is not permitted under any circumstances. Player’s that need assistance on court will need to see the Event Director and the Event Director will assist. The Event Directors decision is final and not open for discussion or challenging. Parents that cannot refrain from becoming involved should reconsider attending these events. This is a great opportunity for players to get to experience some competitive play against other players of a similar age and stage. Please ensure all parents are encouraging and supportive of every child. This is not the Australian Open. Entry Entries must be online Tennis World Xpoint Page and require payment upon entry. Players will be required to have an Xpoint Player profile which has an annual subscription ($22) with the first 30 days free. This is in addition to the $40 per event. Phone entries, email entries and late entries are not accepted under any circumstances. All players must have a Competitive Player Profile prior to entering these events. Withdrawals Withdrawals must be via tennisworldsop@tennis.com.au and if after entries close, will not receive a refund. Wet Weather We will do our best to notify you via email if the event is impacted by wet weather. This will not be prior to 2 hours before play is scheduled to commence and may mean you need to leave home to begin your journey. Please check your email for weather updates along the way. If the event is washed out, you will receive a credit towards a future Tennis World Colour Ball Event. Series Points Ladder All players will be awarded a minimum of 1 point for participating.
